At this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, Taylor put on an unforgettable dealer event on the rooftop of a hotel, showing a set of extremely limited and special guitars, known as the Catch Event.  Here, dozens of one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars were displayed.  We had the opportunity to participate and were fortunate to score a few guitars - this is one of them.  
 
Truetone is proud to present this one-of-a-kind Taylor Custom Grand Auditorium.  An amazing example of what the expert luthiers at Taylor can do, this guitar features back and sides of premium Oregon Myrtlewood, paired with a hand-selected European Spruce top.  Other custom appointments for this build include binding made of Cocobolo with Chamfered edges, a single-ring custom rosette and bound soundhole, and West African Crelicam ebony fretboard binding.  It doesn't stop there - the guitar also has Boxwood Split Diamond fretboard inlays and Stained Bone with Red Australian Opal Dots bridge pins.

The combination of Myrtlewood and Spruce for the body is a unique pairing, as you rarely see the former.   It's known as combining the desired elements of rosewood, mahogany and ample - deep bass, warm midrange and a clear, striking treble.  Players will hear the distinction of each string as they play.  Myrtlewood is great for versatile guitars such as this build.  It goes perfectly with the tightness of European Spruce - the result is a balanced and precise tone. 

The Neo-tropical Mahogany neck has Taylor's Standard Carve neck profile and a 25-1/2" scale length. The neck is topped with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard.  It's incredibly smooth and easy to play, just as you'd expect from a Taylor like this.  

Featuring Taylor's proprietary V-Class bracing, this guitar allows the soundboard to flex naturally while providing increased rigidity along the center. This technology increases volume and sustain, while creating a precise response from the soundboard. Resulting sounds are full, consistent and harmonious along the fretboard. V-Class represents a new design platform, adaptable to different body styles and capable of infusing each with its own sonic identity.  Additionally, the guitar is equipped with ES2 electronics (with Taylor Sense), for the best, "truest" tone possible when plugged in.
