Used And Vintage

For the discerning player that wants warm tones from a reissue of a legendary archtop, here's this Gibson L7 archtop, a truly exquisite guitar.  It delivers a full body richness that you can only find from an incredible instruments like this, which features time-honored construction with the highest quality of components and tone woods.

The Gibson L7 was first released in the 1930s and made an epic splash in the musical landscape. It provided players with robust tones that could keep up with the band and deliver sweet woody tones with plenty of warmth.

This Gibson L7-C reissue, made in the Bozeman, Montana factory in 2011, features a large 17" body made with a arched body with a arched Engelmann spruce top.  With its distinct f-holes, black pickguard, and striking sunburst finish, this guitar looks as good as it sounds. It should be noted this particular one has an especially flamey back. You get a mahogany neck with a vintage neck profile which is thicker than most but still quite comfortable and this reissue features a slightly shorter scale for even more comfort. It comes with a rosewood fingerboard with a parallelogram inlays. Both the body and neck are beautifully bound as well as the headstock. Speaking of headstock it has the iconic "pineapple" inlay with Gibson logo.

In terms of tone (after all, that's what it's all about), this L7-C gives you everything you want in a jazz box like this.  Jazz guitarists love this model for it's a warm acoustic tone that has powerful projection and clarity, without ever sounding muddy.  The bass response is partly why players gravitate towards it, but the treble side stands out - the guitar sings, no matter where you play on the neck.  The tone is crisp and the sustain is incredible.  Overall, it's balanced across the tonal spectrum and suitable for a variety of styles.

This L7-C comes with a vintage-style wooden bridge and nickel trapeze tailpiece. Stay in tune with the Kluson tuners. This transfers the resonance and gives you that full bodied tone that makes this a remarkable archtop.

You won't see many Gibson L7-C's out there, as not many were were made, and they rarely come up for sale - especially not ones this clean, at this price.  This is an incredible archtop, there's no doubt about it.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, is in excellent condition and comes with its hardshell case.  For serious players, this is a serious find.
