Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

The American Deluxe Series was Fender's response to a demand for the ultimate in high-performance on a classic platform.  Various versions have existed over the years (currently known as the American Ultra II), but for many, there's a desire to go back to the originals from the great decade of the 1990's.  That's where this one comes from - 1998 to be exact.

This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis.  Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group.  Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various customized accessories. This particular instrument is actually one that was not modified - well, it was, but came with the original pickups and parts, so we restored it back to stock.

Classically contoured with an ash body and a White Blonde finish, the American Deluxe Fat Strat as a Modern C neck ship with a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets for easy playability.  The guitar features a DH-1 humbucker in the bridge position, Vintage Noiseless single coil pickups in the neck & middle positions, a Fender Deluxe 2-point synchronized tremolo, and an LSR roller nut.  Other highlights includes a set of Fender/Schaller Deluxe Staggered Cast/Sealed locking tuners and special switching that are as follows:

  • Position 1: Full Bridge Humbucker in Series
  • Position 2: Middle Pickup and Full Bridge Humbucker in Parallel
  • Position 3: Middle Pickup
  • Position 4: Neck & Middle Pickups
  • Position 5: Neck Pickup

This hot rod of a Stratocaster was built in 1998, is in excellent condition and has stood the test of time for over 25 years now.  It's ready for the next 25.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  A gig bag is included, and within it is a strap and cable, making this a complete package.  Get it now!
