Vintage 1963 Martin 0-16NY Natural Acoustic Guitar With HSC

From the legendary year of 1963, we have this Martin 0-16NY, which to many is a legendary guitar.  Handbuilt in Nazareth, PA, it's a prime example of Martin's craftmanship.  Originally released in the '60's, this was an early "reissue", in the sense that Martin aimed to capiltize on the folk music boom by coming out with smaller guitars with a stripped down, 1920's vibe.  This wonderful model brings you an instrument with exceptional tone and feel, in a very comfortable and easy to play format.  You don't see many of them out there, and especially not ones this nice.  

This Martin 0-16NY has a parlor-sized body with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. This guitar might be compact but it has excellent projection and dimension. This is thanks to its mastery of construction especially with its bracing, which allows the guitar to respond to the vibration and give you the best resonant tone.  One strum, and your expectations will be exceeded.  We believe that this guitar would have sounded great in 1963 but is even better now, decades later - the wood has matured and dried, leading to a more resonant projection.

You get a mahogany neck with a comfy vintage contour with a rosewood fingerboard.  It's very easy to play.  This is the type of guitar that you won't want to put down, and the more you play it, the more comfortable it gets. This is a slotted headstock model, which gives more break angle keeping more tension and stability. 

The look of the guitar is simple - no bling needed.  There is a classic rosette to complete its aesthetic appeal.  It comes with a newer hardshell case (the original was replaced long ago).

This is vintage Martin 0-16NY is an incredible instrument.  It's in great condition especially for its age, and has been fully vetted by the techs in our shop.  We found that it has had a neck reset, which was very well done years ago.  The guitar has made it's way through the world for over 60 years, and is poised for the next 60.
