The Fender Custom Shop introduced a new run of guitars in 2024 - and while we usually order our own custom creations, we knew this on in particular was perfect as is.  They nailed everything about what a classic Jaguar should be, with a few modern tweaks.

The 1964 Jaguar brings the best of mid-‘60s offsets into the spotlight. Sporting a Journeyman Relic lacquer finish in Faded Aged Lake Placid Blue with a period-correct matching painted headcaps, it's hard to envision a cooler looking Jaguar.  It has the vibe and feel of a guitar that was cherished by musicians for the last six decades, used in countless sessions and out on the road.  You get the expertly done finish checking, and a bit of wear but nothing too heavy - this is the guitar that was played a lot, but never abused.

This guitar boasts a rift sawn maple neck with a '62-style "C" back-shape and a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard, providing a comfortable and effortless playing experience.  The modern tweaks include a 9.5" radius and 6105 (narrow tall) frets for easy playability and bending all the way up the neck.

Another modernization made was the addition of the RSD bridge.  Designed in house by the Fender Custom Shop's metal magician, Scott Buehl, this proprietary bridge improves stability, bringing consistency to tuning and intonation, correcting some of the quirks of the original bridge.  We love it so much that we put it on almost every Custom Shop Jaguar or Jazzmaster that we do.

Its Custom Shop '62 Jaguar pickups and wiring offer a full-bodied and crisp sound, featuring rich harmonics.  It's the classic Jaguar sounds, perfected.

Other features include a 3-ply mint green pickguard, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and period correct wing string tree with tall metal spacer.  The guitar includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

Custom Shop Jaguars are hard to come by, and this may be one of the best we've had here.  Come to Truetone Music to check it out, or order now to be shipped to your home.
