A T-Rex from Jurassic Park wasn't the only thing beastly to come from 1993, here is this Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic HSS!   This guitar is what the boutique guitar brand is known for - super high quality hot rodded masterpieces of craftsmanship.  Before we get into this specific one, here's the history, straight from the source:

The Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic is a guitar that offers a unique combination of eye-catching design and classic pickguard styling. he quilted maple top, carefully selected tone wood body, and swooping forearm contour make for a smooth and comfortable playing experience. This guitar is sure to satisfy any connoisseur of classic tones.   Since 1991, the Drop Top Classic has been an iconic and sought-after "S" guitar. It was a groundbreaking innovation.  

This guitar features a luxurious quilted maple top on a basswood body, giving you a perfect blend of quality construction and tone. The Bora Bora Blue finish perfectly shows the maple top and the body is further enhanced with its flame maple binding, and accented by the white pearl pickguard.  Then, as a nice touch, it's topped off with a matching headstock. The result is an instrument that is beyond aesthetically pleasing.

Now looks are not everything - this Tom Anderson comes with a strong hard rock maple neck that is straighter than a T-square.  It's easy to play, with a comfy feel thanks to its satin finish and Even Taper profile. Enjoy the tone and look of a fine piece of rosewood for its fingeboard, with large frets and a 12" radius for easy bending in the upper register.

The heart of an electric guitar are its pickups, and this one has an incredible set! Its The versatile set of pickups were handmade at Tom Anderson's facility - classic single coils for the neck and middle positions, and a powerful humbucker for the bridge position.  Equipped with Andersons Switcharoo system,  this allows for series or parallel wiring to be assigned to each pickup. By customizing the switches, it is possible to combine the middle single coil pickup with a split neck humbucker and activate the blower switch for a full lead tone with the bridge humbucker. This system offers unprecedented versatility.

Another feature of this guitar is the Sunken Kahler Steeler bridge, with has the Autolatch funcition.  When you grab the bar and pull it into the playing position, you are ready to dive bomb to your hearts galore. When you let the bar go it automatically drops and the bridge instantly becomes fixed. No issues with any kind of unison or intervallic bends or broken string issues. 

This Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic is in good condition - the guitar has player wear for sure, as it did get utilized for what's for over the last 30 years.  There are dings and scratches but nothing significant, and nothing that impacts playability.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by our shop (including the tremolo set correctly, which is super important on a guitar like this - our tech that specializes in these sort of guitars worked on this one).  The original hardshell case case is included.
