Features include a solid roadworthy construction, iconic oval pickguard, 3+1 tuning key configuration, and the ever-popular Music Man humbucker — all of which combine to produce a look, feel, and sound that is remarkably unmistakable. 

This one in particular is stunning - not just in looks with the Hot Honey finish - but also in playability and sound.  It's lightweight too, coming in at just 8.2 lbs.  Even without being plugged in, the bass is super resonant.  Once you do thought, you'll probably as blown away as we were - the Neodymium Humbucker sounds incredible, providing the classic StingRay tone full of a fat bottom end, a sizzling top end, and just the right amount of mids.  These were redesigned to give a wider variety of tones.  The active preamp gives you the ability to really dial in the sound you want with plenty of headroom to really drive the bus.

The sculpted neck joint provides uninhibited access to all 22 stainless steel frets atop roasted maple necks.  Reengineered lightweight tuning machines create a more balanced neck while still providing ultra-reliable tuning stability.  The overall reduction in weight is a much-welcomed feature of the new Stingray Special. Select body woods, improved contours, and lightweight hardware provide greater overall balance for extra comfort and a more enjoyable playing experience.

As an added bonus, Music Man basses now come with a custom Mono case, which not only is a great value in itself, but also provides the ability to protect your bass while in transport while not being heavy.
