Martin Gore is a founding member of the seminal electronic rock band Depeche Mode. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Martin is a renowned songwriter and serves as Depeche Mode's guitarist and keyboardist. He was instrumental in weaving together synthesized electronic sounds with the organic sounds of the guitar to create the unique sonic landscape that would become Depeche Mode’s signature sound.

Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. A long time Gretsch aficionado, the legendary brand is honored to partner with Martin on this exciting new signature model.  And, we at Truetone Music, as fans of both Gretsch and Martin Gore, are proud to be able to offer this guitar.  It's a small one-time run, with only a couple allocated to this territory - we were able to get one, and once it's gone, it's gone!

The G6618-MG boasts a 16” maple body with a chambered maple center block for increased sustain and reduced feedback at high volume. The body measures 2.375” deep and features a glued-in maple neck with Gretsch's ultra-comfortable Standard U profile. This guitar also has a 24.6” scale length and a 12” radius fingerboard, making it exceptionally user-friendly. Mother of Pearl Neo-Classic inlays mark the 22 medium-jumbo frets.

The guitar features individual pickup volume controls, a master volume with a treble bleed circuit, and a three-position switch for selecting tone options. Additional details include a bone nut, Kluson Deluxe tuners, a Custom “MG” signature badge on the headstock, and a TonePros roller bridge. Notably, the guitar also sports a striking Gretsch G-cutout tailpiece.

Built in Japan, the G6618-MG touts incredible craftsmanship.  A hardshell case is included.  This is an amazing guitar, fit for a legendary artist, and a unique build in the world of Gretsch.  We have a feeling that it will go fast.
