Vintage And Used Acoustic Guitars

Here's something you don't see everyday, or ever!  A vintage Fender Villager 12-string, in Black.  In fact, we've never seen one in Black before.  While the regular Natural ones are cool, a rare Black is even cooler.

Fender originally came out with the Villager in 1965, during the folk music craze.   It was a part of their acoustic lineup for 4 years, until being discontinued in 1969.  They are much, much different than other acoustic 12-strings from that era (or any era for that matter).  The main thing is the neck - it feels more like an electric guitar neck.  Given Fender's place in the electric world, this was a way to keep Fender players in house with something familiar feeling, and also to draw in new customers that wanted something "easier" to play.  One of the calling cards of the Villager that has lasted all the way to today is the "hockey stick" headstock.  It definitely stands out!  Fender even makes a current reissue with this same headstock.  Another feature unique to these guitars is the "tone bar" inside the body.

We just got this one in, and it has been vetted, repaired and set up by the head luthier at Truetone.  The pickguard was replaced - all else is original.  The condition is good, but it does look like it's been aging for the last 50 years.  Check out the photos to see this.  Thankfully, structurally it's fine, and plays great.

Here's a piece of Fender history, and you would be hard pressed to find another Villager in Black.  All this at a very affordable price.  Don't miss out before it's gone.
