You got off the Train in Vain wondering whether you Should Stay or Should you Go. Pick up this axe, hop into your Brand New Cadillac and Rock the Casbah!  We are excited to present a very special guitar:  the Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Tribute Joe Strummer Esquire. 

Masterfully built by legendary Masterbuilder Jason Smith as part of a special limited run, this is 1 of just 40 that were made for the world.  This instrument was meticulous crafted and you get an exact recreation of Strummer's famous guitar.  His weapon of choice for the London Calling and Combat Rock era was his tried and true Fender Esquire.   Jason Smith has reincarnated the Esquire to its Clash era look in exacting detail with its black racing stripe, custom “Bourbon Street” sticker and custom Relic finish.

It features a 2-piece offset seam alder body, with a 1-ply eggshell pickguard, flat-sawn maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 9.5” radius, medium jumbo frets, a ’59 “C” shaped profile and Schaller mini tuning machines. A unique touch is the top-load/string-through Tele bridge assembly. You'll love the tone form its Josefina hand-wound 55/56 bridge pickup which is wired up to a 3-way switch and a ‘59 Esquire wiring.

This guitar is in excellent condition - it's as it was new, as it was never played, only kept safely in a collector's home.  It comes with a certificate of authenticity, strap, and a custom pink anvil case with “Strummer” stencil and leopard print lining.  That case in itself is something else!

The Esquire has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  Whether you plan to thrash on it like Strummer or keep it clean as a collector's item, this is quite the find.
