Pre Owned Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland Natural With OHSC

We recently took in a collection of fine guitars, perhaps none as fine as this rare bird - a Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland.  Not only is it a beautiful and amazing instrument, but it's super clean - the previous owner took great care of it. 

Born in 1955 as the brainchild of guitar greats Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, the Gibson Byrdland has been a thinline archtop favorite of serious players for decades.  There's a reason why John McLaughlin, Anthony Wilson and Louie Shelton favored one.  Elegant and a sound like no other guitar, it brings you big archtop tone with a comfortable thinner body.  

This guitar has a thinline body with solid spruce top with exquisite curly maple back and sides with bound classic F-holes. You get bounded 5-piece maple and walnut neck with comfy rounded "C" neck profile. It comes with an ebony fingerboard, 22 frets, a 12" radius, and 1 11/16" nut width with pearl block inlays. There is a beautiful Gibson logo with pearl flower pot inlay and bounded headstock. Of course lets not forget the classic tortoise-shell pickguard. 

With its set of Classic 57 pickups, you get punchy, articulate tones perfect for any style and paired its thinner body you get even dial in dirty tones without excessive feedback.  Simply put, this is one of the best sounding Gibson's we've had here, and we've had a lot.  This Byrdland comes with gold hardware with pickup covers, tuners, trapeze tailpiece, and tune-o-matic bridge. The electronics features a 3-way pickup selector and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup with gold speed knobs for quick access to your favorite tones. So if you want from a luxurious thinline archtop Gibson guitar with big tone this guitar is for you.

This Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland is in excellent condition and comes with its original hardshell case as well as the certificate of authenticity.    It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  Rarely seen, crafted by the finest luthiers, and a legendary history - not to mention comfortable to play with an amazing sound - this is a guitar not to be missed.
