Used Vintage Ampeg Portaflex SB-12 Bass Guitar Amplifier Head And 1x12 Cabinet
Here we have an interesting piece of amplifier history - a 1967 Ampeg Portaflex known as a model SB-12. You won't see many of these around! It has a ton of vintage vibe, and sounds absolutely great.
As part of the iconic Portaflex lineup from the '60s, the Ampeg SB-12 features the unique flip-top design as seen on other amps like the popular B-15N. The SB-12 was designed to complement Ampeg's Baby Bass upright bass model and ran with 22 watts through a single 12-inch speaker. With only three control knobs, the smaller SB-12 offered a definitively simpler design than the larger Portaflexes.
This vintage Ampeg SB-12 bass guitar head and cabinet rig is in good condition. It shows signs of it's age, as to be expected, but it's all cosmetic. Be sure to check out all of the photos to see the wear. The amp has been vetted and tested to perfect working order. Everything appears to be original, other than the speaker. That appears to have been replace some years ago, with a Force 12 speaker.
This is one of the more interesting amps we have at the moment, and a great example of what Ampeg was putting out in the late 60's. If you're into vintage bass amps, this is a great score!
