Pre Owned Fender Custom Shop Telecaster Custom with Bigsby and Abby Pickups Closet Classic Shell Pink with OHSC

There have been a ton of Fender Custom Shop guitars passing through the doors of Truetone Music over the years, both new and used.  We've seen a lot, and while we love all of them, there are some that get us a little more excited than others.  This is one of them....

We are excited to present a special build: this Custom Shop Telecaster Custom Closet Classic in Shell Pink, with a Bigsby and one of the most beautiful AAA Birdseye Maple necks you'll ever see.  If that wasn't enough, it's loaded with handwound Abigail Ybarra pickups.  This guitar was built for the NAMM show in 2012, and is truly a gem of a find.

Yes - it has Abby pickups in it.   The legendary pickup windup was hired by George Fullerton himself way back in 1956, and stayed all the way until 2013.  Upon retirement, her already in-demand pickups became even more sought after.  Over 50+ years, she wound countless pickups, and is regarded as the "Queen of Tone".  You've heard her pickups in Jimi Hendrix's Strat, Keith Richards' Tele, and many more.  Considering this guitar was built in 2012, it counts as one of the last sets she did.  

That in itself makes this guitar truly special, but there's much more to it.  First of all, it's a Tele Custom with Aged Parchment binding, which looks great against the Shell Pink finish.  It's a Closet Classic, so you get a lot of checking but not a bunch of dings or heavy wear.  It was very tastefully done.  Second, it's outfitted with a B5 Bigsby, allowing you to add more variety to your playing with expressive vibrato work.  You don't see many Tele Custom' with a Bigsby, and this is one of the best that we've played.  Speaking of playing, this neck feels incredible.  It's slim, with the 60's Oval C profile, but with a bit more meat in the first position for very comfortable chording.  It's a stunning Birdseye Maple - be sure to check out the photos.  The dark rosewood fretboard has a 9.50" radius and 6105 (narrow tall) frets for a touch of modern playability.

Twisted Tele pickups deliver hot high-output Telecaster guitar tone with a dash of sparkling Stratocaster character. Each pickup is tailored to its position (neck and bridge) to achieve its individual sonic character.
