CATCH EVENT CUSTOM
Here at Truetone, we love guitars that take a ride on the "be back bus" - meaning that it was a new guitar here, briefly owned, and now here again. This amazing Taylor acoustic is one of those. The previous owner barely played it, and kept in a climate controlled, smoke-free home studio for only about a month before it landed back with us. Now it's available again, at a great price. Here's what we originally said about the guitar:
At last year's NAMM show in Anaheim, Taylor put on an unforgettable dealer event on the rooftop of a hotel, showing a set of extremely limited and special guitars, known as the Catch Event. Here, dozens of one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars were displayed. We had the opportunity to participate and were fortunate to score a few guitars - this is one of them.
Truetone is proud to present this Taylor Custom Grand Auditorium. An amazing example of what the expert luthiers at Taylor can do, this guitar features back and sides of AA-grade flamed Big Leaf maple, completed with a hand-selected Lutz spruce top. Other custom appointments for this build include a single-ring paua rosette with a bound soundhole, Hawaiian koa body binding, West African Crelicam ebony fretboard binding, polished bronze tuners, Artist fretboard inlays in green abalone, and a full-body gloss finish with a translucent white color treatment. This color, Whitepearl Burst, is unlike anything we've seen before.

To simplify all that, this is a truly unique guitar with amazing appointments that makes it beyond special. Full specs are below. Be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the exquisiteness and intricacy of this carefully handcrafted work.
Featuring Taylor's proprietary V-Class bracing, this guitar allows the soundboard to flex naturally while providing increased rigidity along the center. This technology increases volume and sustain, while creating a precise response from the soundboard. Resulting sounds are full, consistent and harmonious along the fretboard. V-Class represents a new design platform, adaptable to different body styles and capable of infusing each with its own sonic identity. Additionally, the guitar is equipped with ES2 electronics (with Taylor Sense), for the best, "truest" tone possible when plugged in.
Big Leaf maple's uncommon use as a top wood invokes an earthy, rich sound that's still "tight", akin to parlor guitars and vintage recordings. It captures and amplifies the player's style and technique into a signature sound. Figured maple adds striking visuals to its bold tone.
Lutz, a hybrid of Sitka and White spruce, grows in microclimates between them. Its properties can be superior to either species alone. It blends characteristics from Sitka, White spruce, and Engelmann spruce, plus Adirondack spruce's power. This creates strong volume, projection and tonal richness.
The Neo-tropical Mahogany neck has Taylor's Standard Carve neck profile and a 25-1/2" scale length. The neck is topped with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard. It's incredibly smooth and easy to play, just as you'd expect from a Taylor like this.
The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. It's in excellent condition; we'd say mint but we noticed the tiniest nicks in the finish on the top, but it's pretty much perfect. The original hardshell case is included.
Obviously this is a special guitar - and one that you haven't seen the exact likes of before. Come to Truetone Music to experience it today, or order right here for it to be expertly packed and safely shipped to your home.
