Here's a very special P-Bass for the low-end lovers, this Fender with a PJ configuration!  You won't see many of these out there - it's the Precision Bass Plus, straight out of 1989.

1989 was a historical year - the Berlin Wall fell, Nintendo released the Game Boy, and Taylor Swift was born (seriously).  It's also when George Blanda of Fender designed the Precision Bass Plus.

This particular Fender bass was among the initial American-made models to incorporate a 22-fret neck. To accomplish this, the manufacturer had to slightly enlarge the body shape and extend the cutaways, resulting in a distinct alteration to the instrument's overall appearance.Other features include the following:

  • Solid alder body
  • 1-piece maple neck with a maple fingerboard
  • Adjustable Lace Sensor Precision and Jazz pickups
  • Schaller deluxe die-cast tuning machines
  • 3-ply parchment pickguard
  • Schaller Elite bridge (fine tuners gone)
  • Electronics: 3-way toggle pickup switch, master volume, series/parallel push-push button for the neck pickup and master TBX tone.

This bass comes with stylish a Black Pearl Burst finish.  Fender discontinued the model by 1993, so you don't see many of them out there.

The bass is in good shape - there's definitely evidence of player wear on the neck and body, but nothing too major.  It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop and is ready to go!  A gig bag is included.

Note: the serial number is E326025, which to some may indicate that it was built in 1983.  However, that's not the case.  We opened the bass and found that both the neck and the body are stamped as being from August 1989.  They are original to each other.
