If you want one of the best 12 strings ever, this would be it. That's quite the statement to make, but we mean it!
One of the most celebrated and popular 12-strings ever made, the Taylor Leo Kottke Signature Model incorporates tropical American mahogany back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood binding, and special bracing with a Jumbo body shape. Rosewood binding and thin bands of green purfling add subtle accents, while the inlay-free fretboard is profound in its simplicity. Back in the day, Leo Kottke almost single-handedly revived interest in the 12 string guitar. But, it wasn’t until 1990 that he got together with Bob Taylor to design one of the most celebrated and popular 12 string guitars ever made.

This LKSM was built in 1997 and is in excellent condition with almost no wear on it - just normal finish scratches. It's kind of amazing that it's been kept in such great shape for the past 25 years. It has nice low action and the thin profile mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard has a wonderful easy playing feel. The frets are in excellent condition. This is a 12-string that's perfect for both strumming and fingerstyle playing. The guitar has been vetted and setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. The model was intended to use heavy gauge strings and tuned to C#, which suits Kottke's playing and sound. We've strung it up and tuned it as a regular 12 string, as we figured that would appeal to more people - however, if you want it redone in C# like originally intended, we can definitely do that, at no charge.
Everything is original on it, and the original hardshell case is included. Additionally, it comes with the original certificate/warranty card. Taylor no longer makes this model, so if you're interested in the LKSM, here's your chance! You'd be hard pressed to find one in such excellent condition.
