Pre Owned 2011 Rickenbacker 660/12 Mapleglo Electric Guitar With OHSC

A rare bird has flown in - what just landed is this wonderful Rickenbacker 660/12 Maple Glo!  We rarely get these in (and Rickenbacker's wait for a new one is over a year).  This is a super clean one from 2011, which has been setup by the techs in our shop to play great.  

Rickenbacker's are prized for their consistent construction and quality and a tone that is instantly recognizable. This 12-string gives you all the jangle and chime you'd expect from these iconic instruments. This instrument features the original design that has a Maple cutaway body, with a thru body sleek thin-profiled double bound maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard adorned with triangular pearloid inlay markers. There is the distinct trademarked “checkered” black and white binding set off the body, while white binding graces the neck. 

Speaking of the neck, this one is super comfortable to play, with a 1.75" nut width.  This fine Rickenbacker comes with a set Vintage Single Coil Toaster Top pickups bringing you the sonic bliss of its bright sparkly tone.  There's a particular sound in mind when you think of a 12-string electric, especially a solid body, and this is how you get it! 

The 660/12 model originates with the legendary Tom Petty - and you can thank him for the easier to player wider neck.  It originated from the Tom Petty Signature model in the 1990's.  When the run was done, Rickenbacker saw the opportunity and came out the 660/12, which was essentially the same.

This particlar instrument has been modified with Schaller tuners for improved tuning, and comes with nickel hardware.  It's in great condition with a small dent on the body, and comes with its original hardshell case. It even still has the Made in America sticker on the pickguard!
