Used And Vintage Acoustic Guitars

For your consideration, we have this amazing Gallagher Doc Watson Signature Acoustic -  a guitar that is very much a part of the rich Gallagher history. The story goes like this: J.W, the owner and master builder of the company, visited guitar legend Doc Watson to show him two models. Doc became enamored with his G-50 dreadnought flat top guitar. The only problem was this particular one had a crack in it, but Doc loved it, so J.W. made a deal with him.  He would let Doc use it, but insisted on giving him an unblemished one. Thus the beginnings of the birth of the Gallagher Doc Watson Signature guitar.

The model is still based on that G-50 but with significant changes at Doc's request.  He had been playing Les Paul guitars and loved the feel of that neck, so his signature guitar features a 1 3/4” neck with jumbo frets. This guitar features mahogany back and sides, Sitka spruce top with voiced bracings, and herringbone purfling and rosettes. Inlayed on the 12th fret you get Doc's signature. There are diamonds and square inlays with maple binding throughout.

Hand-made in Tennessee, any Gallagher guitar is a true demonstration of masterful craftmanship.  This Doc Watson Signature is a great example of the build quality coming from this boutique builder.  The fit & finish is incredible, with high quality tonewoods used, and an extreme attention to detail.

This is one of the best sounding acoustics we've had in here.  It just seems to ring for ages, with an incredibly balanced sustain.  The bass is very present, and powerful, perfect for strumming.  The highs sing beautifully, and the midrange is perfect for finger picking.  The guitar has a very dynamic response that covers the entire tonal spectrum.  It's also very comfortable to play with its unique neck.  We fell in love it right away, and think that you will too.

This particular instrument is in excellent condition - it was built just earlier this year, and it appears that the previous owner barely played it.  It's hard to find anything on it that qualifies it as anything less than "like new".  It's all original, clean as can be, and comes with the original hardshell case.
