Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

Have you ever wanted an amp that would surprise you? Ever wonder what fantastic amp Jim Marshall started modifying to build his Marshalls from? Here it is this 1960 Fender Bassman.   Vintage ones like this are rarely seen, especially in this good of condition, and this is a serious score.

That's right it may say Bassman, and it can definitely play with bass well, but this is undoubtedly one of the best guitar amps ever made. Why? Well for starters it is a 6L6 based amp that boasts a wealth of clean headroom. This gives you thick, sparkly cleans that punch and shine. Even with single-coil guitars you get a thick tone.  It features four inputs; two normal inputs, two bright inputs.  They have been and can be chained together to create whole new tones and drive this amp. There is a 3-Band EQ and Presence with a Volume for each channel.  This combo features four Jensen-Designed 10" speakers pumping out a wall of tone.

Featuring a range of tonal options, this vintage 1960 Fender Bassman is a top choice for for serious players, collectors and anyone that appreciates a vintage amp. Its clean tones are rich and full at lower volumes, while adding a touch of gain produces the best overdrive money can buy. Although it's difficult to determine the true king of rock n roll amps, this one surely has a place in the court with its timeless sound. Built to more rigorous standards than modern amps, it has already stood the test of time for 64 years and is ready for the next 64!

This tweed era giant is good condition with some modifications, which are as follows:
  • The lower right speaker has been replaced with period-correct speaker.
  • All of the speakers have been reconed.
  • All of the electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, and the screen resistors have been replaced as well. The 100k ohm supply resistors have been replaced.
  • The treble pot has been replaced.
  • The original handle has been replaced.
  • A grounded AC cord has replaced the previous one.
  • This fine amp's covering has been retweeded and there is a piece of missing grille cloth in the lower panel.

The amp was recently vetted and serviced by legendary Los Angeles area vintage tube amp guru Greg Leon, so it's good to go.

The Bassman continues to be one of the most iconic Fender amps ever made and is very much a part of both the Fender and the Marshall amp story. So if you want a piece of amp musical history, here it is, in good condition for you.
